We had those in Houston in the 1980's after the oil crunch.

That was a bad time in Houston History. Our local economy tanked.

That was when I was going off to college. I had planned on getting a Geology degree and working for an oil company. That killed those dreams. There were no geology jobs for years after that. When I got out of college 1990, the job market was bad. I ended up going into teaching.

If I had been born 20 – 30 years earlier, I could have had a good career in Geology. Had I been born about 15 years later, I could have gotten into the environmental geology field. I just tried to get into Geology at the wrong time.

One of my regrets is not sticking too it. I would have loved to have been a Geologist.

We got past the oil bust, just as our country will get past these times.
