The more I think about the more I am convinced we have to get off our foreign oil dependency. Oil is killing America. It’s killing our economy. When prices go up, it makes everything more expensive.

It’s also a security risk. We are at the mercy of those who sell it to us.

It’s also environmental unfriendly.

We need to gain control and be in charge of our own energy needs. We need to convert to electric vehicles. We need all of our power to come from a combination of nuclear, solar, wind and water power. We need to save our American oil for none energy needs like the production of plastics.

We don't need it. China can have it, and all the problems that come with it. We can do better than that.

Why are none of the presidential candidates not talking about this? I would vote for any one of them that made this their number one goal. As long as we are dependant on foreign oil for our energy needs, things are going to get worse. I think it could be done in 5 to 10 years if we made it a top priority. We need to do this, but how do we get the politicians to listen and act?
