Not a free ride, balance

This story right now is as close to "Swiftboating" as we've gotten in this election and, to his credit, Obama addressed it directly and I think effectively unlike Kerry.

I watched Joe Scarborough this morning and he's been ranting about this for days now tinged with these little fake comments to try to pretend he's got some sympathy for Obama. However, after a ten minute rant about Obama, they played the clip of Cheney in an interview where he basically said "Who cares" when asked his response to the polls that indicated an overwhelming desire for Americans to want to get out of Iraq. Scarborough gave his token black correspondent (don't remember his name) a quick rebuttal to it and then shifted right back to the Obama story.

This was a situation where the the current Vice President of the United States basically told the American voters to take a flying f*(k because he was the "decider" and it rated no more than a blip in ther morning news cycle in favor of a story that the conservatively owned media won't let go away because it causes conflict and higher ratings. Almost no word at all about the bizarre swings of the stock market, the incredible tensions in Tibet, terrible flooding in Kentucky. No, Barrack's crazy preacher and the effect on Obama in the polls is the only story.

This is what the country is getting right now and I think it shows the strength of Obama that he's doing as well as he is with the clear hatchet job that being thrown at him. Let's not forget that the Dems haven't even brought out the guns against McCain yet. This pissy stuff about Obama pales in comparison to the graft and corruption that guy has been involved in.
