I am a virgin to politics. I might as well be the young 23 year old Ashley Baia that Obama speaks of. I have never followed a politician this closely before.
I found Obamas' words to parallel the tolerance, compassion and understanding that I re-iterate on the Zone.
I may be a novice to politics, but I am a seasoned observer of people. Obama is my harbinger of hope. I find his calm demeanor very genuine. He has a deep reverence for America. He is not sullied by power or greed. He is approachable. He is one of us.
I have never been a Democrat until this primary. I was compelled to vote for this man. The personification of this man through his speech showed me that he wants us to be each others' champion...and he is going to take that first step with us....and he is in it for the long haul. He is setting the example and the standard. He does not expect any more from us than what he is willing to do himself. To truly understand and fight for the common good, we must know each others' story.... we are all striving for the same goals. That is our common denominator...and he gets it. He is a bridge over the barriors of fear, racism, and ignorance. Now...if we will just listen.
