Obviously, but I don't think Lee is a mentor to anyone running for office- not dog catcher nor president.
Besides if there was any politician in that situation, they would toss him under the bus- just to make the point. Some things are just too important to risk any misunderstanding concerning. And with a President, one has show one can make a decision and not try to waffle through everything.
