Space/Science » in reply to Reflecting on sir Arthur, from the space station

DEXTRE is nothing like HAL 9000

It can't even play chess or cut off life support properly.

As one of the astronauts said:

"Well, I am a big Arthur C. Clarke fan and I have to say that Dextre just isn't as smart as HAL," stated Linnehan, inspiring laughs by his fellow astronauts. "But, he's built to be braun [brawn] and not brains and he's going to serve a big purpose up here in terms of moving a lot of hardware around from point 'A' to point 'B'."

And the ISS isn't anything like the Space Station in 2001. There
isn't even a single Hilton Hotel aboard.
