That's another one of those "presentation" issues, like with "worst employment stats in five years." The number sounds so much bigger than averaging it out to about $20 million a year. That's nothing to sneeze at either, but J. K. Rowling has done a lot better with her books and nobody's giving her crap about it.
What does make rich Democrats like the Clintons so irritating is their constant lambasting of the (non-Democrat) rich. I have yet to see one of these gobblers (politicians, Hollywood types, CEOs) reduce their own lifestyles by one nickel while at the same time demanding that the wealthy get taken to the cleaners. Although people like Hillary pontificate about not needing or wanting their taxes cut, I have yet to see any of them forego a single deduction, or send one extra dollar to the IRS every year.
The rich don't miss the tax money. It's people like me that have to scrape it up every April.
