Five Earth Masses...

Hi SteveS

Five Earth-masses means it's ~ 1.5 times Earth in radius and gravity ~ 2.2 Earth. So even if it wasn't excessively hot (~400 K or so) the gravity is a pain. But for explorers in exoskeletons it'd be ok.

The distance to Gliese 436 is 33.4 ly, so it's a fair way to travel for probes we might have ~ 100 years from now. If we can push a laser-sail to 0.3 c it's 110 years there and 143 before we get data back. I've got to wonder how many more super-Earths will be found around red-dwarfs - we could have one next door around Proxima Centauri.
