re: What goes around comes around...

Hey there Greg...

I'm having a little trouble navigating your site. Clicking on a small thumbnail gets me a slightly larger thumbnail, clicking on it takes me back to the thumbnail gallery. I wanted to see a larger version of ab102003dspires, because if I'm not mistaken, I worked on that one with Dan. I'm a little confused, because the MSSS image of the same # doesn't ring any bells. I have my own copy around here somehwere, but it's buried in a big stack of archival CDs, and I'd rather not spend an hour sorting through 'em.

That's an intriguing image, all right, and we probably discussed it here. I remember trying to measure the angle of the various "plumes" or whatever they were, and found an interesting consistency suggesting that they really were an atmospheric phenomenon and not streaks on the ground. But it wasn't conclusive one way or another. Given that that was an early aerobraking phase image, even a later MOC image would have been clearer, and an MRO image would probably decide the question one way or another.

I'd like to see it reimaged. Go for it.
