Well, I’m the wrong person to ask. I’m not an accomplished photographer by any means, but i think you might have a problem with the electronic aspect of digital verses nondigital lens. You might be OK if you go manual all the way when shooting that's providing the mounts are compadible.

I decided to go with Canon digital after a lot of research, but I mainly want to use it for astrophotography.
I found a great site that had plentiful reviews on different Canon cameras and lens. This guys takes assume pictures with his Canon (so I figured he knew what he was talking about) and can be viewed at his Digital picture gallery.
