I tried to be as political neutral as possible and still point out a very real fact - technical progress costs money and there is a limited amount for such programs. The choices the US has made and the pressures the US economy is and will experience will preclude much of that.
And you'll have to explain your remark about continuing the current administrations lunar interests. I'm not aware those have been funded to any significant degree or with any especial enthusiasm or priorities. Compare to John Kennedy, for instance.
