But otherwise nothing would get done. Unprecedented obstructionism and, much worse, actual attempts to destroy the world economy by defaulting on the debt. Sheer madness.
A large percentage of republicans in Congress are dangerously incompetent on economics and civics, and have become reckless in foreign policy. The GOP was once considered the party with the foreign policy credentials, but now they have no idea what diplomacy even is. For any and every foreign policy challenge the answer is bombs and invasions. Clearly they are not a party fit to govern at this point in history.
