What would liquid nitrogen lakes/seas/oceans look like from space?
I remember before weeks before the Voyager encounter with Neptune, there was speculation about Triton having nitrogen Lakes on the surface. They were partly right. Triton’s nitrogen lakes are under ground, and they feed the nitrogen geysers.
What would nitrogen lakes/seas/oceans look like from orbit? Would they be blue, black, dark red, etc…?
What if Titan wasn’t covered with smog and its lakes were roughly pure methane. What would they look like?
Somewhere in our galaxy there are probably worlds with lakes and oceans of liquid nitrogen, and other worlds with liquid methane. I am just curious as to what they would look like from orbit.
