I've got a Black and Decker electric cordless lawnmower. I love it, although it doesn't cut as powerfully as a gas mower. All environmental considerations aside, simply being able to stop it, do something else for a moment, and instantly restart it without pulling a damn cord until my arm falls off, makes it worth the money.

My leaf blower is also electric, but not cordless. It's a component that snaps off my industrial vacuum cleaner and presto! A leaf blower!

P G and E is planning to install meters that will allow them to charge different rates for "peak" and "off-peak" power, which sounds like a good idea to me. Feedback on power use is a major ingredient to get people to conserve.
