Fascinating. As one who can really only comprehend 5 generations - - -
it sort of boggles the mind.
I can more-or-less understand two generations back, my own, and two downhill and that's about it. Past that it becomes an intellectual matter, with very limited relevance for me. The difference between 8 million light-years and 8-billion light years really doesn't strike a chord. I just can't imagine either distance well, but do understand it's a long ways.
70,000 years ago seems like a long time, a short time and an unbelievably short time on the scale of things and there's something inaccessible about it.
I guess it's a little tough to explain. At least for me.
