Do you realize...
...the last big advance in physics was Einstein's General Relativity?
The only thing comparable to that before was Newton's Laws two hundred years earlier, and there has been nothing comparable since.
Oh sure, we know a lot more about the Universe now than we did then, but they are mostly observations, new data, like the expanding universe and evidence of the big bang, atomic structure and nucleosynthesis, or insights into matter like the discovery of the structure of DNA.
But the last truly revolutionary advance in our conceptual tools with dealing with the Universe occurred a century ago, and it came from Albert Einstein.
The more I know about the man the more I am in awe of him.
