Is there any point in discussion?
Can we talk about a foreign policy that does not involve an American ability to decide who lives and who dies across the entire planet? About a foreign policy that does not assume the future of the world's strategic regions is ours to decide? That accepts the probablility that increasing power is going to reside in societies that are organized differently than ours? That views "American exceptionalism" as a compliment which, if we don't let it go to our heads, we may someday actually deserve?
