Did you truly see no difference at all in who was being negative about who over there?
If Rice got dramatic mortar fire, it's because her opponents over there--the insurgents and terrorists--fire mortars into civilian areas to express themselves. The Iraqis who opposed Pelosi are the legitimate leadership and people, who express their negative opinions peacefully and verbally to the media.
