re: Aw, the rewards

Disregard U.N. no-arms resolutions, kill democratic leaders, start a murdering political conflict against the base to a point of civil war and be rewarded with veto power in the cabinet.

The bonus is you get to keep your outsiders in arms so you can threaten democracy and deal with Israel.

Looks like the U.N. lost, again.

There track record for just trying to keep a democracy in a country is dismal and I see no hope in sight. If you can’t enforce your own resolutions you are a loser. Can anybody name one law breaking country that is going to obey a resolution against them after this show of weakness?

Looks like the people of Lebanon are losers too. Bunch of terrorist running through the city armed.

Thanks to Iran Syria has a strong hold in Lebanon, which it shouldn’t even be meddling in. There are more Hezbollah fighters than Syrian troops in Lebanon making sure they get there way.

The U.S. are losers too.

But many sources have also criticized the Bush Administration for not showing support to the Lebanese Government when it was attacked by Hezbollah. The President, they say asked the Lebanese to resist Hezbollah but didn't help them to do so.

I can hear the downbeat chanting of the West meddling in and or nation building in Lebanon followed by the cry of troops killing innocents in the hopes of deterring Hezbollah from over throwing a democracy.

If this isn’t appeasement then I don’t know what is.
