I didn't expect things would move so quickly. I thought that we would have to wait till the end of the year, or early 2009 to see US$ AU$ parity, but with the recent explosion of world oil prices to US$137 per barrel, the AU$ has climbed to 96.4 US cents.
I hope your new President has some grasp of Economics. You're going to need a capable hand on the Tiller...
