It reminds me of my Alaska trip.

When I went up the Dalton Highway in Alaska to the Arctic Circle,
I was allowed by a tourbus operator to plunge my arm
down in a freshly dug hole in the tundra, with my fingers
touching ice in the permafrost layer, 30 centimeters down.
That ice had been there for 1,000's of years.
