I just saw Chris Matthews Hardball Ari Fleischer...they're setting us up for the "That's not like Scott at all, it must be his ghost writers talking." defense.
One thing's for sure. Bush's ex-Press Secretary is a liar. He's either lying now, or he lied when he worked for Bush. As for the actual charges he catalogues in his book, it appears they're is nothing new there at all. I pretty much made them all on my very first post in the Zone about two years ago, when I itemized the reasons why Bush went to war.* And they have been pretty much covered in great detail by the...ahem...Main Street Media. To quote McClellan, Bush was trying to carry out a policy of "coercive democracy". Ron Zeigler himself couldn't have spun it any better than that.
*Dear Moderators,
If it's possible to do so without too much effort, could you locate and retrieve that post from the archives? I would love to see just how well it's held up since I wrote it.
