I do not think of myself as liberal or conservative. I will leave that to others. I prefer to think that I am pragmatic.

I do not like big government from a social or fiscal perspective because I have seldom seen anything worthwhile come from big government.

When I think of big government what comes to mind is "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" and "trial and error" with the emphasis on error.

A good local government (when you are lucky enough to have such) can accomplish real good, that can be seen and touched while much of what is done at a national level is at best a trade off.
