My dad had a version of the trucker's hitch...
...that he could tie in about 2 seconds. He did the construction of the loop at the top so fast I could never figure out how he made it exactly. It was not done the same as either of the two versions on the website.
At the end, he used a half-bow to secure it with a half-hitch around the bow-loop. That way all you had to do to untie it was pull off the half-hitch and yank on it.
