re: Cliff

We're already over the Cliff. Thats why I've been vehemently against Obama since it became obvious that he was entirely constructed of emotional appeal and charisma. Likely whoever gets in (probably McCain) will be walking into a bad situation held together by duct-tape and papered over by press releases. They will be out in 4 years, as things shake loose into daylight. The question is- will they have the skills and the direction and the spine necessary to start the hard fix in those four years.

Obama will be as lost as a high school jock in a graduate math seminar. hopeandchange won't bring us in for a soft landing, but it might make some liberals feel good on the way down.

McCain will likely toe the party line, which is essentially what has brought us to the brink. So he won't be any good.

Hillary was our only hope, and the democratic party flushed it away for a verse of kumbaya with Obama, who, lets face it, is the Democratic version of GW- A man who moves the base, who liberal democrats want to share a cappuccino with, who we like but has no demonstrated skill, no demonstrated experience... etcetcetc.

It would have been better to put Hillary out in front of this train, and then put the charismatic feel-good-guy (Obama) in place after Hillary turned into the hated messenger, and then the hated agent of deep change.
