re: This time, they saw the stars !!

Hey, Raoul!

I caught NASA TV late last night and got my chance to see the ISS-Discovery fly-by. It was about 10-15 minutes past ten pm and there it was! The 'thing' is is that it disappeared right before it went overhead of me/us. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and you could see all the stars. I waited and even hoped that the ISS would occult a star, but nope. Scorpious was definitely noticeable. When I did get a look at the ISS it had a fat H shape to it. :)

Also, when I went back inside, they showed live images of Earth at night. When it was going over Peru, there were noticeable lightning flashes from storms AND beyond Earth's limb, there were these bright dots. The camera moved, but they did not move with it, proving that the bright dots were indeed outside of the station and Earth. Many charged particles were seen as well. Raoul, did they use a night-time vision camera? Very cool!!!
