Obama's website apparently has an unmoderated public blog site connected to it. Some blogs like Kos can get away with this, but not main political websites. Their operators are going nuts trying to stamp out dozens of real and fake psycho hose beasts posting bizarre crap over there. Given the politics of the supporters, it isn't easy picking out the real ones from the ringers.

As I write this, the site operators are also frantically closing off a number of directories they apparently left wide open to the public. Bloggers are having a field day.

You would think there were enough horror stories out there about this sort of thing (MoveOn's "ad contest") that they wouldn't have made this mistake.
