The main difficulty right now...
Is that I live in a nation where a large portion of the political actors support in almost every way the same ideas and policies being enacted in Venezuela. One of them is running for president. Most people would have caught on that this is a cautionary tale.
You'd think the specific list of big-government policies I tallied up in my first post would have driven that point home, but abstraction isn't a strong suit around here.
