re: Preparing for Pandemonium

Bush’s problem is that he is obsessed with fighting terrorist. That was fine when they were the main threat this country faced.

Okay Bush, you pounded the terrorist back into their caves. They are not America’s number one threat. Our Foreign Energy Dependence is.

He needs to get unstuck on this terrorist thing and fight this new threat (Actually its not new).

Did we not learn anything from the 70’s energy crises? No we didn’t. Once energy got plentiful again, we started wasting it again. Am I supposed to be impressed with 35K cars that get 30-35mpg? Hell no. We had cars in the 80’s that got that good gas mileage.

We need to use domestic oil and coal, but only while we are making the switch to nuclear, wind, solar and water power.

My biggest fear is that when drilling starts here in America and gas prices go down, we’ll forget about alternative energy, like we did in the 80’s, and go back to gas guzzling SUV’s. We didn’t learn our lesion from the 70’s oil crises. Will we learn it now.

Maybe gas going up to $5+ a gallon will be a good thing long term. Maybe it would force us to switch to alternate energy and electric cars, since we can’t seem to do it without being forced to.

No, its going to take a leader to make sure we stay on course even after gas prices come down d=from domestic oil. Its going to take real leader ship to remind us daily that domestic oil for energy is only temporary while we get the alternative energies into play.

BTW, Texas is the largest producer of wind energy and that is where my home’s energy is coming from.

Get off your butt’s politicians!
