So the UN is the line you use to draw when suffering inside another country becomes our business?

Fair enough.

For me. The ideal situation would be for the United Nations to go after tyrants all over the world. But the UN I have in mind is stronger than what we have. The UN needs to become stronger, and other countries need to pull their weight. We also need checks and balances so things like the Oil for Food scam doesn’t happen again.

I am all for the UN bringing human rights to oppressed people all over the world- I always have been. I just don’t think our UN is strong enough for military action.

It’s a good goal to work towards, but I don’t think we are there yet.
