You have to remember that among the MoveOn crowd, the Clintons were never that popular to start with, and the moment someone viable came off the bench (Kucinich wasn't getting the job done), the Clintons were out the window.
The media is a different case. It isn't that far left. I think in their case mostly they're just twitterpated by the New Liberal on the Block. Remember, Bill Clinton started out that way, too.
