When does "security" become oppression? The safer we get, the fewer freedoms we have. If matters continue, we'll all be so safe we'll have trouble leaving our homes.
Look at airports now. My Fatherland wants to see what I have in my shorts in order to fly. One inept screwball had, apparently, a bomb in his shoe, so now everyone who flies has to take off their shoes. And if he had a bomb, he couldn't explode it. (What do you call a shoe bomb which doesn't explode? A shoe.)
There are neighborhoods clamoring for more police, more security. Would providing that be an effort to oppress the citizens in that area? Probably not.
I think the guy is getting a bad rap on this one. God knows I don't love Conservatives, and that I have a problem with Texans, but maybe Cruz deserves a break on this one as we pillory him on the other 1000 ways he's an ass.
