In addition to the reporter roughing, within just the past few days the Donald has been attacked for dissing Heidi Cruz and he has been ambushed on his abortion policy and his nuke first-use doctrine. There have also been some ill-chosen remarks about NATO, our Pacific Rim commitments and nuclear proliferation.
The hastily assembled mutual non-aggression pact between the GOP and Trump is unraveling, with Donald threatening to go it alone if he's swindled out of delegates at the convention, and his opponents hinting they will not support him if he's the nominee.
And in the meantime, Hammerhead Cruz is patiently swimming in his wake, ready to snatch up the survivors as they jump off the sinking ship. Isn't it amusing that Ted Cruz, the most hated Republican in the Senate, is now the champion of the Establishment?
Damn. You just can't make this stuff up. I have to admit, I'm having a ball watching this all go down. Too bad that the most likely winner of this Byzantine knife-fight is Steerpike himself, Ted Cruz. And that man scares the shit out of me. He reminds me of Fidel.
"Once is happenstance.
Twice is coincidence.
Three times is enemy action."

I can see an entirely different "highly improbable sequence of events".
