Charly Black says a terrorist attack now would help the McCain candidacy.

On the other hand: Any fool can tell you it's a true statement.

OTOH: But the press has jumped all over him for it.

OTOH: But the press admits it's true, too!

OTOH: The OBAMA campaign has jumped all over Black about it.

OTOH: Under pressure, Black has back-pedaled on his remarks.

OTOH: Hillary said the same thing a few weeks ago, nobody jumped on her.

OTOH: McCain distanced himself from Black's remarks, essentially repudiating him.

OTOH: President Bush has proudly and repeatedly said the lack of another 9/11 justifies his policies.

OTOH: Using that logic, an attack now would therefore repudiate his policies.

OTOH: Everyone realizes even the best defensive measures cannot guarantee there will be no attack.
