He he, it's a California thing, actually. I'm just doing my duties as mandated by the State Constitution. One provision encourages amateur psychology, which had the effect of bootstrapping the multibillion dollar enlightenment and self-help industries. The other is the obligation to Think Deep Thoughts, which has made California a leader in innovation and other good things. Next time you're in California, breathe deeply, and you'll pick up the buzz.
You got me to thinking further [uh-oh]...one might infer that the simulation was created sometime between Newton and Einstein. Maybe Newtonian mechanics, with its implicit assumptions about an analog universe, described a real analog univers. And later, Einstein and his successors described the artificacts of the simulation of that real universe.
Which leads to the further speculation that back in the real analog universe, they never developed semiconductors, let alone notions of quantum computers, because their universe doesn't have the quantum-ness that makes such things possible. We could be, in fact, exploiting the features of the simulation to build our advanced technologies.
Had enough?
