Don't you wish the Democrats had picked their best?
Actually, the idea the McCain might be the pinnacle of the Republican Party is somewhat depressing. SDAI has one good point--character is essential, but consistent conservative policies and knowledge of the basic philosophical issues wouldn't suck either.
I have hopes for some of the Republicans coming up through the ranks, but it's going to be a long dry spell. Even if Republicans win elections.
