The stories circulating here in the States back then were that our troops were cowereing helpless and passive under the influence of marijuana, while the enemy were using it to pump themselves up into a delirious fighting frenzy. Once, no doubt due to an editorial miscalculation, I recall both stories appearing in the same venue in the same issue.
