Can anyone quantify "fast"?
Are we talking decades, centuries, a time of transition or an overnight change? Also, how is this affecting compass readings at the earth's surface? Are they expecting erratic swings and variations, or continuous changes in magnetic declination? Are these changes only detectable by precise measurements, or need sailors beware?
