EADS-Astrium was responsible for the construction/assembly of the ATV, Jules Verne.
Recently, the CEO for EADS-Astrium said, that with a billion Euros, he could make
a "manned" version of the Jules Verne in less than 5 years.
A billion Euros?
Could the Europeans afford it?
How many men or women would it carry into space?
And...if you make a manned/crewed version of the "Jules Verne" capable of
going into Low Earth Orbit, to visit the space station, why not develop a manned version of Jules Verne
that can orbit the moon as well for an...encore?
Why not?
The Europeans have the rocket to do it.... The upgraded Ariane V.
But...What about the European politicians? Will they support it?...They have to provide the money.
Will the European politicians listen to the European space enthusiasts?
And how many European space clubs and space websites are there?
Some many questions....It would be nice to get some answers.
The EADS-Astrium company indicated it could do "big' things.
