Chasing drug smugglers
I have a cousin in the US Navy, an engine specialist on the USS Boone, frigate whose port is in Jacksonville, Florida.
They've been involved in countering drug-smuggling activities in the Carribean and the Mediterranean, intercepting speedboats and fishing vessels and occasionally finding cocaine and pot.
He told me they couldn't catch the speedboats but the smugglers dumped hundreds of pounds of weed overboard when escaping. He neglected to tell me what the crew of the Boone did with it all!!
