Actually, I am in the evil camp prefering the current IAU position with 8 planets. I'm not that happy with "clearing on'es orbit" criteria but I don't have a better idea. Although roundness is a logical criteria, by itself, it admits many bodies, most undiscovered so it is probably more confusing than helpfull to the layperson.
