I've been trying to make sense out of the politically suicidal stance of some of Clinton's supporters. It seems to me that there may be two elements.
The first is Bill and Hillary. They thought they deserved the nomination, that they had been betrayed by many people who owed them political fealty. They believed they just had to declare for the nomination and it would fall into their collective lap. A bit arrogant, they didn't take Obama at all seriously before it was too late.
The second is some of the Hillary people think. I believe they are sincere when they say Hillary is prepared to be president, as opposed to Obama. Second, they don't think that Obama can be elected, so they may as well protest.
Reading some of the background of the two campaigns, and there are other analyses available too, helps explain what happened. They show that Obama ran a real heads-up campaign, not overlooking the details, and prepared for possibilities.
Hillary planned on everything being over on Super Tuesday. She did not plan past that until it was too late. Bill Clinton thought he could deliver South Carolina, and insisted upon Hillary running there. And she lost, and it was over for her.
Anyway, it helps to think I understand a bit. Much easier than just writing them off as poor losers and a bit nuts besides.
Arf
Maybe understanding the hardcore Hillary supporters.
