And I can see WHY I fell asleep. The monotone of a scripted speech by Old Glory speechwriters is enough to numb the youngest of minds. Could explain why most of his crowd was over 60.
It's not that I don't like McCain, (because I do); I just listen to the old scripted words promising the same things again and again, while the country tumbles downwards once more. All the broken promises, dashed hopes. I think I could be a great speechwriter too.
It's easy to polish the words and grasp at the people's heartstrings.
What I didn't like were the LIES against Senator Obama and what he plans to do.
The people just ate it up. They were obviously written by someone other than McCain and I hope Barack chews him up and over for it during the debates.
I commend John McCain on his sense of patriotism and his stubborness that embues him with an elevated status as a war hero, but it does nothing for me to ensure I see him as a capable leader. His closing lines to whip up the crowd were "Stand up and fight! Stand up and fight! Stand up and FIGHT". It sent eerie chills down my spine.
He and Sarah Palin have the possibility of locking our country down into a country with retro values and a become a Conservative chokehold on our cultures and our freedoms.
We will be moving into a life or death campaign and the American people are responsible for it's direction.
For those who missed McCain's speech, you can watch it <here.>

OK, I watched it.
