It all tells me that they want to know more about our solar system's area bounderies:
I'm amazed that we even have such comprehension of it's (egg shaped) properties now and that it even has a Heliotail. It reminds me of Earth's magnetosphere in a way.
And even beyond it... interstellar gas and matter; local interstellar cloud and gases and where are we heading?
Good questions, imho. It may even answer questions about our Oort Cloud along the way.
