Quite a few people expressed the idea that stupid lenders should pay for their lapse in judgement and be allowed to go under. Then the chants of "but what about the home owners and their CHILDREN" started up. Seeing other people pay for their mistakes is a good way of keeping others from following in their footsteps, IMO.
