Have you seen any of 'Discovery Project Earth'?
On the Discovery Channel. Each show examines an odd idea to generate clean energy or sequester atmospheric carbon or cool the atmosphere, etc. And they model the odd idea and build scale models and build prototypes and test them.
I've seen two, now. One had a lighter than air electricity generator. The other generated clouds with high salt particle content. They were both very interesting shows.
I recommend it highly.
