World in Denial...

Hi EP

There's quite a vocal scepticism towards the Bays being impact structures, but it all looks suspiciously like a comet break-up and fire-storm (maybe periodic repeating for a few years) to me. But then I'm no impact specialist. Certainly it makes more sense than special pleading for all the suspicious looking data to be coincident roughly in time and NOT to be impact related. If the variable C14 dating evidence that's emerged lately holds up then it might tighten up the current temporal spread of some of the data. An example of C14 vagaries is the so called C14 Catastrophe in 800-400 BC - all dates in that range come out the same because of the C14 fluctuations. There might be other "plateaus" in the data to really confuse things in the deep past - or so Alvin Jenkins is suggesting in his e-print.
