General Electric's D2 re-entry spacecraft concept...and the Soyuz...
Fascinating story:
To be part of the Moon program, General Electric proposed the D2 spacecraft (bid they lost against North American with its conical Apollo spacecraft).
But the Soviet's Soyuz re-entry vehicle (built later) has exactly the same shape and still flies today !!
