You would get to see what the world would be like if the strongest country was China, Russia, or some other nation that really didn't give a rat's ass what people, even its own people, think of it. Governments that have no accountability, no serious democracy, and a reputation for ruthlessness in dealing with opposition.

Many liberals have a dream of the U.S. "evolving" into something like Sweden or Belgium, a nice, comfortable, cradle-to-grave "bedroom society" with no "world policeman" role, no international responsibilities, and nice, clean industries building things like computer games or cell phones.

The problem is that, for the most part, these countries live in peace and comfort because the U.S. exists.

Personally, I think it's worth working to make sure the U.S. remains the strongest country.
