Current Events » in reply to ER was right. "U.S. gets a triple dose of bad economic news as home sales tumble, jobless rate soars, durable goods orders plunge."

ER was misquoted

I never said it wouldn't be a bad one...

What I said was everything would be done to try and postpone a crash, even if it made things worse in the long run. The plan is to dump it into the next administration's lap so they would be stuck with fixing it.

The conservative response was that things only SEEMED to be getting worse because the press was trying to influence the outcome of the election by emphasizing the downside of the economy and ignoring all the positive news. They've changed their tune now, they've conceded there is no positive news, but that it's all the liberals' fault.

The fact that postponing the problems doesn't seem to be working does seem to indicate that this is not just a matter of interpretation, or spin. What it tells us is the economy is fundamentally UNsound.

But enough whining. I'm going to go and enoy my junket, because I have a feeling it may be my last.
